LARC Mentoring Programme

Liverpool Arts and Regeneration Consortium (LARC) has recently commissioned Business in the Arts: North West (BIA: NW), to research into the level of interest amongst the cultural sector’s emerging leaders and managers in mentoring as a tool for personal and management development. The research results showed a high level of support for the introduction of a mentoring programme for staff in both the eight LARC organisations and also other cultural organisations in Liverpool.

The programme will deliver 40 mentoring relations through to the end of the Liverpool Thrive programme in June 2011.  The programme will be structured to follow excellent quality standards and is designed to support those with management responsibilities, ideally both financial and for staff, freelancers or volunteers.

JISC Culture Campus Liverpool Portal Project

LARC members are working with the universities and education establishments in the city, Culture Campus Liverpool, SMAC and Liverpool City of Learning, to develop an innovative portal for universities and cultural organisations in Liverpool to display in one place their continuing professional development (CPD) opportunitiesand activities.

The CCLiP Portal will provide a central point for drawing-in and capturing many of the activities, events, knowledge and learning opportunities and expertise arising within all organisations involved in the project.

This project will create a new form of partnership between cultural organisations and higher education institutions, sharing a common agenda and collaborating in activities designed to ensure that Liverpool is one of the most attractive cities in Europe in which to pursue advanced cultural study and to develop a career in the creative industries
