Family Friendly Consultancy Appointment

One of the aspirations of the LARC Thrive programme is that Liverpool and the city region should become known as a great place to be a parent, and a great place to be a child.

Culture can play a key role in achieving these goals. In order to realise this potential, the cultural sector needs to build on  its family friendly offer, and to promote this offer in order to develop and increase family engagement in cultural activity.

To this end, LARC has recently appointed Akronym consultancy group to  work with the LARC partnership to develop a plan that will help to establish the reputation of Liverpool and the city region as a place where families of all kinds can engage actively and creatively in culture, thereby enhancing their overall quality of life.

The plan will focus on enhancing  family friendly cultural programming across Merseyside, and building the audience for family friendly cultural activities

The consultancy project will create a clear picture of the current position; identify gaps and opportunities; and develop recommendations for the future including measures of success. The approach will be not only to ‘look outwards’ from providers’ programmes but also to seek responses from current and potential audiences and participants.

The Akronym team brings with it knowledge & experience of the arts and cultural sectors ranging from family friendly and audience delivery promotion to carrying out governance roles within local arts organisations and being familiar with the LARC partnership delivery. There is national expertise within the team in community engagement and cohesion with work for the Dept for Communities and Local Government alongside significant experience of working to create access to audiences from all communities to arts and cultural events

For this project the team will be Chris Sims, Simon Ryder and Renee Hemmings.
